Household Hazardous Waste Day is back again in Wayland! The Wayland Board of Health is excited to announce that we will be holding Household Hazardous Waste collection day in Wayland on March 23, 2024. Pre-registration for the event will open on March 4. Please note you will not be able to register before March 4th . More information will be provided in a press release and on the Health Department website: https://www.wayland.ma.us/health-department once we get closer to the pre-registration date.

The collection location will be at the DPW Garage at 66 River Road, Wayland.

We appreciate everyone’s patience with the delay in being able to offer this event due to circumstances that were out of our control. As always, we encourage residents/homeowners to minimize the generation of household hazardous waste and to buy only the quantities of paint, solvents, cleaners, pool supplies, pesticides and other hazardous materials that are needed, to utilize non-hazardous materials (if possible) instead of hazardous materials, to share leftover supplies with neighbors or others who might need to use them, and to donate paint and other useful materials to organizations that might be able to use them.

MERCURY PRODUCTS WILL BE COLLECTED

Please keep household hazardous materials in their original containers, packed securely in boxes or other containers when transporting to the collection. Do not mix into any single container any substances which may result in a hazardous reaction or an explosive of shock sensitive material. To help expedite the collection process, separate waste materials by type.

PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE YOUR VEHICLE WHEN YOU ARRIVE AT THE COLLECTION SITE; YOUR MATERIALS WILL BE UNLOADED FOR YOU. UNLOCK YOUR TRUNK, IF POSSIBLE, PRIOR TO ARRIVING AT THE SITE. SMOKING IS PROHIBITED AT THE SITE.
