On Dec. 21 at 6:45 p.m., everyone of every age is invited to gather outside around a fire pit near the sheds to mark this shortest day of the year. There will be a brief ritual reflecting on the meaning of solstice and the value of darkness, pause, and renewal in our overcrowded lives, and ending with a blessing for the coming winter. Then we will toast marshmallows and enjoy hot beverages. (If we cannot be outside due to weather, we will gather in the Meetinghouse instead.)
