Holiday Open House in the Center of Wayland – All are Welcome

As many of you know Wayland Center, pre-COVID, was alive with festive activities at the Wayland Historical Society’s Grout-Heard House Museum, the Wayland Free Public Library, the Depot, the First Parish Wayland, and in more recent years, Arts Wayland. We’re back! So, mark your calendars to visit each one of our historic buildings on December 4, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM for an indoors and in-person Open House!

The Grout-Heard House Museum (GHHM), will be decorated by the Wayland Garden Club; the Girl Scout Tree will again be in the Stone Room; visitors will be invited to tour the house; music will be provided and children may engage in a game while touring the house. Our only change is that guests will receive goodie bags containing refreshments to take home rather than refreshments served at the house. Musical entertainment will include two high-school groups. At 2:30 PM a string quartet will perform. At 4PM, the Madrigals, an acapella group, will sing.

At the Wayland Free Public Library there will be entertainment for children and music for all ages. In the middle of the afternoon (3 PM) local musicians Thomas Meunier and Cindy Lou have been booked for a holiday concert with a jazz twist.

Toward the end of the festive afternoon there will be a traditional Carol Sing at the First Parish-Wayland with the New Horizon Band at 4:30 PM.

Throughout the afternoon you may want to linger at the Depot (open from Noon to 5:00 PM) to shop for unique presents for those on your gift-giving list.

Please join us on December 4 th from 2:00 to 5:00 for this festive occasion and bring family and friends. All are welcome at the GHHM, the Wayland Library, the Depot and the First Parish Wayland.
