Upcoming Events and Classes from Arts Wayland

Youth Learn to Draw For Life at The First Parish in Wayland
Fridays from 4 to 5:30 starting on November 18th
Local drawing teacher, artist, and printmaker, Mei-Ling Ellerman, will offer her popular beginner drawing course for children ages 9-13 through ArtsWayland. The class size is limited to 6 students so that Mei-Ling can give ample attention and feedback to each student throughout each class. The course will start teaching the children the fundamental principles, techniques, skills, and confidence they need to draw for life.
Music Exchange Listening Room Open Mic on November 9th
7 pm at the Weston AIC

Grab a ten minute/2 song slot by signing in on the chalkboard at the door. We’ve got a full PA, however we ask that singers bring their own microphones if possible. Our stage is large enough to hold a small band. Light percussion is welcome! The gallery has very comfortable seating, room for safe distancing if desired, great acoustics, and a wonderfully respectful listening audience!

The David Thorne Scott Trio at the First Parish in Wayland
Sunday, November 13th at 3 pm
The David Thorne Scott Trio is not your average jazz combo. The “horn” is David’s voice, which he accompanies with electric bass. Mark Shilansky plays piano and sings harmony vocals, while Eric Byers uses his guitar to orchestrate distinct moods for each piece.
