Wayland Town Crier 4/1/22: Sean Gibbons was named Wayland police chief in December. He’s now on leave. Police Chief Sean Gibbons has been placed on leave, Town Administrator Stephen Crane said Friday. Crane declined to say why or for how long. Lt. Ed Burman, who joined the Wayland Police Department only three weeks ago, has been appointed acting chief. He was previously a sergeant with the Ashland Police Department and had been a Framingham police officer prior to that.
