ADULT SERVICES

  • Domestic Violence and Human Rights. Although domestic violence is often seen as physical abuse, it includes various forms of coercive control designed to deprive the victim of basic human rights and liberties.  Join us for a discussion with Wayland experts on this important issue.  Presented by the Town of Wayland Human Rights, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee with co-sponsorship from the Wayland Public Library, the Lauren Dunne Astley Memorial Fund, the Sudbury Wayland Lincoln Domestic Violence Roundtable, and Survivors of Abuse Rising (SOAR) for Justice.  Register through our Events menu.  Tuesday, November 16 at 7 p.m.
  • Acorn TV, BBC Now on Hoopla. Select Acorn TV film and television shows are now available free on the library streaming service, Hoopla! Visit the Acorn collection to find popular series like Vera and Poirot, as well as Acorn originals like Manhunt and Agatha Raisin. In addition, you can find popular BBC series like Absolutely Fabulous, Father Brown, and Luther.
  • SVNP 25th Anniversary Exhibit. The Sudbury Valley Nature Photographers intended to have this show a year ago but certain events intervened.  Now it’s finally on display throughout the month in the Raytheon Room, where you can see the stunning work of 14 fine local photographers. 

YOUTH SERVICES

FOR BABIES, TODDLERS AND PRESCHOOLERS 

  • Indoor Storytimes with Ms. Carly. Join Ms. Carly in the library for storytime! Children and their caregivers will listen to stories, sing songs, and perform fun rhymes and movements. We will meet in the Round Room on the main floor of the library. For babies through preschool age children, with caregivers. Attendance is limited. Masks must be worn by everyone ages 2+.  Registration required! If you are waitlisted you have the option of viewing the storytime from home via Zoom. Tuesdays, Nov. 16, Nov. 23, and Nov. 30 at 10:30 a.m.
  • Indoor Storytime with Ms. Pam. Join Ms. Pam in the library for stories, songs, puppets, and activities. We will meet in the Round Room on the main floor of the library. For ages 2.5 to 5 years with an adult. Attendance is limited. Masks must be worn by everyone ages 2+.  Registration required! FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

  • Spooky Stories: Storytime with Ms. Elise. Feeling a fall chill? Ms. Elise will read spooky picture books in this storytime. We will meet upstairs in the Round Room. Attendance is limited. Masks must be worn by everyone ages 2 and up. Registration required! If you are waitlisted you have the option of viewing the storytime from home via Zoom.   • Kids Take and Make Craft: Owl Collage. Kids can make a colorful owl out of triangles and circles with this Take & Make Craft Kit! We will provide most of the supplies you need to make the craft at home. This craft is best for children ages 4-10. Please register each child separately. Kits can be picked up on Monday, November 15 from our curbside service. Register HERE. Limit one kit per child.
  • 4th/5th Grade Book Club. We will be discussing Clean Getaway by Nic Stone. We will meet upstairs in the Teen Space in the Mezannine. FOR TEENS

  • Teen Advisory Board Meeting: Candy Bar Bingo  Teens! Join us for this month’s Teen Advisory Board Meeting and win candy bars while playing Bingo with your friends. We’ll brainstorm ideas for the library programs YOU want and talk more about how to decorate the Teen Space. We will meet in the Teen Space upstairs in the mezzanine.   • Teens Take and Make Craft: Pinecone Creatures. Teens can make their own pinecone creatures with this Take & Make Craft Kit! We will provide most of the supplies you need to make the craft at home. This craft is best for teens ages 11 and up.  Please register each teen separately. Kits can be picked up on Monday, November 15 from our curbside service. Register HERE. Limit one kit per teen
