Thrive Support & Advocacy to Host 37th Annual Forrest Memorial Road Race on Sept. 26

WHAT: Thrive Support & Advocacy, a nonprofit empowering youth and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in MetroWest and Greater Worcester, will host its 37th annual Forrest Memorial Road Race, starting and finishing at the Wayside Athletic Club in Marlborough. The event – featuring a 5k run or walk, a 1.7 mile walk or wheel, and post-race barbecue with music and awards – is Thrive’s largest fundraiser, with proceeds benefiting recreational experiences and sports teams participating in the Special Olympics. Pre-event registration is $25 and includes a race T-shirt. Same-day registration is $30. Prizes will go to the top male and female runners and walkers and to the top age-group finishers. The race is held in memory of longtime Marlborough community leader Jim Forrest.
