Wayland Town Crier 8/26/21: Wayland brothers to turn off the (antique) lights. Fifty-one years ago, Yankee Craftsman began on a whim. In 1970, the late Bill Sweeney left his career as a general manager of Dow Chemical when he fell in love with bringing antique lighting back to life. He first repaired a mid-1800s wagon wheel chandelier, which hung in his family’s living room for years and is now in the center of the business’ workshop.
