Wayside Quilts makes quilts in Wayland for charity

With donated tools, fabric and batting some quilt kits were assembled for a community donation. The event was Community Quilts for Kindness held last Saturday at Good Shepherd Parish in Wayland, Ma the ladies from the local quilt guild came together. Their first in person event in more than a year. They had about 25 quilters some brand new and some veterans. All came together for the day and worked on the donated kits from Fabric Place Basement while they taught and guided some new quilters. The mascot for the day was Lola! All of these quilts will be donated to charity after being pieced by our members from across the region, (even one from Maine) and friends, local Longarm quilter Quilterkel Design will finish these beauties! It was a day of old friends, new friends and giving back to the community using their gifts and some donated materials.

If you are looking for a wonderful quilt group to join for a hybrid year of in person and Zoom meetings. $40 for annual dues and the first meeting is September 13, 2021. Questions feel free to reach out to Kelly quilterkel@yahoo.com
