A Wayland resident, parent of two students, one at the Loker Elementary School and one at the Middle School, is presumptive positive for Coronavirus.

In consultation with the Wayland Department of Health and in keeping with practices followed by other schools in the Boston area, both the Loker School and the Middle School are closed today. The Town has hired an outside firm to provide an additional cleaning of those schools.

The Town is following all State Department of Public Health and CDC guidelines. We will update the public as new information and new guidelines are issued to us.

With respect to public gatherings and public meetings, the Town will be issuing separate guidance later today.

We will be providing a dedicated phone line and email address as soon as they are set up where residents will be able to obtain more information and ask questions.

Town officials, and the Wayland Department of Health, remain in continuous communication about this issue, and further updates will be provided to the community as we receive them.
