Wayland Town Crier 8/19/19: A GOOD AGE: Riding the carousel ‘jumper’ at 101.  Jean Bates Pratt wanted to ride “the jumper.” She had just turned 101 on Saturday and wasn’t going to settle for a horse that just stood still and didn’t go up and down. On Sunday, surrounded by family members, Paragon Carousel staff and her personal retinue of paparazzi, Pratt was helped aboard a horse named Muffy Mac Mouse, gave a little wave and said, “I’m ready.” Soon the music began and she was off on a circulating celebration of another year in her most wonderful life.
