Dr. Hallowell From Disorder to Trait: Getting the Best Out of ADHD

Edward Hallowell, M.D., considered the Godfather of ADHD, is recognized not only as one of the foremost experts on ADHD, but also for his expertise on a wide range of psychological, psychiatric and social topics relevant to educators, parents, couples, children, doctors, managers and people with ADHD. In this presentation, From Disorder to Trait: Getting the Best Out of ADHD, Dr. Hallowell explores celebrating the Strengths of ADHD amidst the Challenges. He will review how ADHD affects academic achievement, peer engagements, and extracurricular activities. He will offer scientific underpinnings of positive psychology for educators and parents to use to unwrap the gifts embedded in ADHD, while also dealing with the problems this trait creates.

There is no easy solution for the management of ADHD in the classroom or at home. Dr. Hallowell will provide effective tips on supporting children with ADHD, explain how to promote a child’s strengths and highlight how these kids can transform over the school year(s).
