Wayland voters OK $40M worth of spending

Wayland Town Crier 3/28/18: Wayland voters OK $40M worth of spending. Voters passed about $40 million worth of additional capital spending on Tuesday, including $29 million for a new library, with an expected $10.1 million state grant if the proposal garners a two-thirds majority at Town Meeting next week.

Besides a new library, the other debt exclusion questions that passed at Tuesday’s election were an estimated $3.8 million for renovations and maintenance at the Wayland Town Building and Fire Station No. 2, and $6.9 million for reconstruction of Wayland High School’s stadium and an artificial turf playing field at the Loker Recreation Area off Rte. 30.
