Domestic Violence Roundtable to Hold September Meeting

The Sudbury-Wayland-Lincoln Domestic Violence Roundtable will hold its first fall meeting on Tuesday, September 12, 2017, at 3 PM in the Community Room of the Wayland Public Safety Building located at 38 Cochituate Road, Wayland. This year’s programming will focus on the theme “Domestic Violence Affects Everyone.” The Roundtable would like to invite anyone interested in learning more about the Roundtable and its activities to join its members at the meeting to help plan this year’s events.

The Roundtable is a community based nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting safe and healthy relationships, raising public awareness about abusive and controlling behaviors, and ending relationship violence in all its forms. The Roundtable pursues these goals by educating local communities, supporting agencies that provide services to victims of abuse, networking with other concerned community groups, and mobilizing community leaders.

Roundtable members distribute domestic violence resource materials to more than 160 locations, thereby providing information on abusive behaviors and making resources available to customers and clients in need. The Outreach Committee collects and distributes donations for families in shelter through the Valentine’s Day Gift Bags, the springtime Shower for Shelters, and the December Holiday Drive. The Program Committee hosts educational programs on a variety of topics, and the Roundtable also sponsors and participates in programs provided by other community groups including the public schools, local domestic violence service providers, and faith communities. This year, members will again hold a White Ribbon Day celebration in March and will commemorate National Domestic Violence Awareness Month in October with a number of community activities.

If you share our determination to eliminate abusive behaviors in our communities, please attend our monthly public meetings held on the 2nd Tuesday of every month, September through May, at 3:00 p.m. in the Wayland Public Safety Building, 38 Cochituate Road, Wayland, Massachusetts. We welcome your participation.
