About the Show: A holiday classic from Meredith Wilson, the composer of The Music Man. Based on the movie of the same name, Miracle on 34th Street tells the story of single mother, Doris Walker, who doesn’t want her six-year-old Susan’s head filled with romantic notions. With Christmas approaching, Fred Gailey tries to woo Doris by charming Susan and taking her to see Santa Claus at the Macy’s department store where Doris works. Over time, even Susan is convinced that this Macy’s Santa may be the real Kris Kringle. Filled with humor and beloved songs including “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas,” this heartwarming musical provides a star-vehicle for a female actress and also features numerous great roles for children.
