Lifeguard needed for half-day for small camp

An aquatics director is needed for half-day for the One Earth Summer Camp based in Framingham. The Interfaith Woodland and Wetland Adventure Camp is a small (max 10 children, ages 6-10) summer camp, half days (9-1) for one week at the end of June. It is a program of the One Earth Collaborative, a project of Open Spirit, which is a fiscally sponsored 501(c). This camp provides scholarships to students in need.

The camp takes the children canoeing on the Sudbury River (or Charles, if that would be more convenient) on Tuesday June 27 with Thursday June 29 as the raindate.

The following certifications are required:

  1. A current American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Certificate, Royal Bronze Medallion, Boy Scouts of America Lifeguard Certificate, or National YMCA Lifeguard Certificate or an equivalent certification;
  2. A current American Red Cross CPR Certificate for the Professional Rescuer or American Heart Association Health Care Provider CPR Certificate; and
  3. A current American Red Cross Standard First Aid Certificate, or Community First Aid and Safety Certificate (which certification may be evidenced by a notation on the back of any American Red Cross Lifeguard Training Certificate), or an equivalent certification.

There will be someone with 45 years of experience taking people into the wilderness providing the canoes and leading the group, but the camp license requires someone with the certifications listed above to be involved.

Volunteering would be great, otherwise the salary will be negotiated
