Spotlight on the Rivers Edge Development

River’s Edge is the 188-unit combined affordable and market rate rental housing proposed for development on Rt. 20 near the Transfer Station. If would bring Wayland’s Affordable Housing Inventory up to more than 9 percent (the ultimate goal is 10 percent to stave off 40B developers). The Selectmen are awaiting an update to the 2013 economic analysis, which is due this month.  Our guests on this program are Jerry Heller, Chair of the River’s Edge Advisory Committee; Becky Stanizzi, representative to REAC from the Economic Development Committee. She early-on envisioned the potential for the Route 20 site; and Mary Antes, the Selectmen’s representative to REAC, and a long-time proponent of affordable housing in town.
