Nick Tolle, cimbalom and Jennifer Ashe, soprano
The cimbalom (say SIMM-bah-lumm), a Hungarian instrument invented in 1874, is a cousin of the hammer dulcimer. Nick Tolle is its premier performer in New England. Jennifer Ashe is a familiar voice to Wayland Concert Series audiences. She starred in our special concert celebrating Wayland’s 375th birthday, and featuring New England vocal music from 1640 to 2013. A versatile performer, she sings ancient music with Blue Heron and the Handel and Haydn Society, and the newest music with the Boston Modern Orchestra Project and elsewhere.
ANDY VORES – Hard Songs (world premiere)
MISCHA SALKIND-PEARL – The Plum Gatherer
MARTI EPSTEIN – Mary Magdalen
