Wayland Community Fund: Requests for help increase over last year

This fall, requests for financial assistance received by the Wayland Community Fund have increased over last year.  Although the Massachusetts economy is doing well, there are still many people who have health, employment, and a variety of other difficulties says Chairman Michael Patterson.  The WCF provides help to Wayland residents with rent, utility bills, food, medical bills, children’s clothing, and many other items.  Since its inception the organization has provided well over $500,000 to people in Wayland.

The WCF is staffed by five volunteers.  The organization receives no public or taxpayer funding.  All overhead costs and expenses are paid by the volunteers. One hundred percent of every contribution goes directly to helping applicants.

If you know someone in Wayland who needs financial help ask them to call the WCF’s hotline at 508-356-3624.   More information is available on the Town of Wayland website.
