Wayland Patch 9/15/16: 4 Wayland Students Named National Merit Scholarship Semifinalists. Four from Wayland were named among approximately 16,000 semifinalists nationwide in the 62nd annual National Merit Scholarship Program, and will be competing for some 7,500 National Merit Scholarships worth about $33 million next spring, according to an announcement Wednesday. The students, all from Wayland High School, who were named as semifinalists for the National Merit Scholarship Program are Derek Ho, Sarah Raines, Jacob Sommerfield and Lily Toto.
