Teacher pay varies widely across Massachusetts

Wayland Town Crier 8/14/16: Teacher pay varies widely across Massachusetts. Teachers in Massachusetts share many of the same qualifications, but the amount they get paid can depend as much on geography as it does on education and training. Schools in Concord, Weston, Brookline, Lincoln-Sudbury and Wellesley paid teachers an average of more than $90,000 during the 2014-2015 school year, the most recent year for which data was available, putting them among the 15 school districts in Massachusetts with the highest average pay. Wayland was close behind, paying teachers an average of $89,900, according to DESE’s annual survey of teacher compensation.
