Golden Tones chorus launches 28th season with free concert and open rehearsals

Golden Tones chorus 0915Bring your appetite and join the fun as the grill and the Golden Tones chorus sizzle at the Natick Stop & Shop (Routes 9 & 27) on Labor Day Saturday, September 3, at 12:30pm. It’s a free sing-along concert as Golden Tones chorus begins its 28th season. Through the generosity of Natick Stop & Shop, proceeds from Saturday’s barbecue will benefit the chorus’ continuing musical outreach program of almost 50 uplifting concerts each year, many to underserved audiences.

If you love music and enjoy singing pop classics and show tunes for a variety of audiences, come to Golden Tones chorus’ first open rehearsal on Tuesday, September 6, from 10am to 12pm at the Wayland Senior Center (Town Building corner of Routes 27 and 20). It’s just next door in Wayland!

There are no auditions and no attendance requirements. You will find a group of friendly music-lovers from all over the MetroWest area. At the second open rehearsal on September 13, join us at 9:30 a.m. for refreshments before the rehearsal, courtesy of the Wayland Council on Aging and our own bakers.

To learn more, visit our new website goldentones.org, call our office at 508-318-6318, or just come to any Tuesday morning rehearsal!

The mission of Golden Tones chorus is to practice and provide enriching entertainment for senior citizen facilities, schools, faith communities and public events. Members are men and women of retirement age who sing and dance to lift spirits, have fun, and promote health and social engagement to benefit our audiences and ourselves.
