Celebrate the Fourth in Weston with stamps

spellman stampWayland Town Crier 6/29/16: Celebrate the Fourth in Weston with stamps. The Spellman Museum of Stamps & Postal History on the Regis College campus in Weston will hold its annual Happy Birthday USA Family Day on Monday, July 4 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Activities for children and adults will include stamp scavenger hunts, games and puzzles for stamp prizes, designing patriotic stamps, making envelopes from recycled paper to use to send letters to friends (the museum pays the postage), creating stamp mosaics, and arts and crafts activities using stamps.

Children can also make a free collection of American flags on stamps to take home. Children can use chalk to draw stamp designs on the museum’s front sidewalk. Plus, children can have their photograph made into a “stamp.” The museum even has a dress made out of stamps.

Refreshments will include lemonade and a piece of the July 4 stamp birthday cake. Anyone wearing red, white and blue will receive a discounted admission.
