Weston Drama Workshop, a nonprofit youth summer theater organization, will hold auditions in May for this summer’s lineup of productions. WDW, which stages performances each July at Regis College’s Fine Arts Center, has been running summer programs in Weston for over half a century. Auditions are open to participants entering 6th grade through age 23.

The Broadway Revival version of Cinderella, Rodgers and Hammerstein’s beloved musical based on the classic tale, will be this summer’s Morning Program show, open to students entering 6th grade through entering 9th. The production will be directed by Weston Middle School Drama teacher Aidan O’Hara. Auditions for this age group will take place Saturday, May 21st at 10 AM and 1 PM.

WDW will also stage three productions as a part of the Evening Program, which serves participants entering 9th grade through age 23. Participants will be cast in one production. This year’s shows include Stephen Schwartz’s Pippin, directed by Brian Kelly; Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Evita, directed by Chris Brindley; and William Shakespeare’s The Tempest, directed by Rebecca Bradshaw and performed in the Fine Arts Center’s Black Box Theatre. Auditions for these three shows will take place Monday, May 16th at 7 PM; Thursday, May 19th at 7 PM; and Saturday, May 21st at 4 PM.

All auditions take place at the Weston Recreation Center. Auditioners may be asked to come back for a callback audition, which will be held on Sunday, May 22nd. It is advised to register for the programs in advance of auditions to ensure a spot. Auditions are not required to participate; registrants who choose not to audition will be cast in an ensemble role. All shows will be performed July 14-23 at Regis College.
