Volunteer for the Annual Garlic Mustard Pull at Wolbach Farm, April 27

Volunteer for the Annual Garlic Mustard Pull at Wolbach Farm, Wednesday, April 27, 3:00 pm – 6:00 pm

Sudbury Valley Trustees (SVT) is hosting its annual garlic mustard pull on Wednesday, April 27 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Volunteers are needed to help us eradicate garlic mustard from the woods at Wolbach Farm. This invasive plant is particularly noxious because it disrupts soil microbial processes in addition to displacing native plants.  There is poison ivy in and around the garlic mustard, so long pants, socks and closed shoes are required and long sleeves are highly recommended. SVT will supply gloves, but volunteers are encouraged to bring gloves if possible. Pulling invasive plants is easy and satisfying work. We welcome volunteers 14 and older to attend all or part of the work day. Students who need community service hours are encouraged to volunteer.

Registration required at www.svtweb.org/calendar or call 978-443-5588 X123. SVT and nearly 3000 members protect and care for land and wildlife habitat in 36 communities surrounding the Concord, Assabet, and Sudbury Rivers.
