Tarrah Zedower is a Wayland resident whose four year old son, Caden, is being treated at MGH for leukemia. For the second year in a row, she is running the Boston Marathon in support of the Mass General Pediatric Oncology team in honor of Caden.
Tarrah is passionate about raising funds that not only go towards finding a cure, but also go towards supportive care for the families and patients during treatment. One of the programs that MGH offers which has been an incredible support for her son is music therapy.
Tarrah felt helpless when Caden was diagnosed. Running for a cause that had a direct, positive impact on his care allowed her to regain some control over the situation. When Caden was diagnosed at two years old he picked up a guitar in the clinic and decided he was going to strum and drum his way through treatments, guiding them all on his journey. Their story is about healing through music and running.
