SUDBURY VALLEY TRUSTEES
Hands-On Outdoor Map and Compass Basics
Saturday, April 16, 10am–12pm
Sudbury Valley Trustees (SVT) is offering a Map and Compass Basics training program at Walkup and Robinson Memorial Reservation in Westborough on Saturday, April 16 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Join us for this hands-on program, led by Tom McGowan, a member of SVT’s stewardship boundary marking team, at this beautiful woodland “oasis” in Westborough. In addition to learning to use a compass and read a map, participants will pinpoint location through triangulation and then navigate to new locations by following a bearing. Tom will also cover planning routes using a map. Compasses will be available, but we suggest you bring your own. Registration is required; Members: $10, Non-Members: $20. To register, visit www.svtweb.org/calendar or call 978-443-5588 X123.
