Wayland Town Crier 2/22/16: ‘Young’ seniors enjoy fun and exercise in Wayland. One of the best-kept secrets in town is that Wayland’s Cochituate Field is home to Eastern Massachusetts Senior Softball (EMASS). It was founded here in 1995, 21 years ago, by seniors from Wayland and surrounding towns who wanted the excitement, exercise and camaraderie of being part of a team sport in an era and at an age known more for sitting, reminiscing and watching than for playing competitively.
