Wayland Town Crier 2/11/16: Push continues for Wayland rail trail to Weston. The long-envisaged Wayland Rail Trail recently received a shot in the arm as Eversource received permission from the MBTA to perform the engineering work necessary to file for the required conservation permits.
At the same time, Eversource has agreed to pay for virtually all of the engineering, permitting and construction of the route, not only through Wayland – saving the town an estimated $500,000 – but Weston as well. In return, Eversource will be able to use the trail as a service road for the major transmission line that runs along the trail.
