As the Wayland High girls’ basketball team walked off the court at Newton South High Tuesday night, there was little to be happy about. The Warriors struggled to find consistency at either end of the floor. Critical defensive stops were followed by traveling violations and turnovers. Timely baskets were proceeded by missed defensive assignments. But despite a frustrating 50-39 Dual County League loss, the Warriors, fresh off one of their best campaigns in years, still had hope and high expectations.
