Merit-based scholarships are available for high school students who want to go abroad

LOGO-CBYEAre you or do you know a high school student who wants to go abroad, but might not know how to finance it? Full, merit-based scholarship for American high school students to study abroad, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State are available through AFSUSA.org.

  • YES Abroad provides scholarships to study for one academic year in countries including Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Macedonia, Malaysia, Morocco, Oman, Philippines, Senegal, Thailand and Turkey.

Application deadline: December 1

  • CBYX provides scholarships to study abroad for an academic year in Germany. CBYX participants serve as “youth ambassadors” of the United States, sharing their life and culture with their German hosts and local government officials, and gaining new perspectives on global current affairs.
