Wayland weighs move into state insurance pool

Wayland Town Crier 9/8/15: Wayland weighs move into state insurance pool. The town stands to save as much as $1.3 million by moving its workers into a state-run health insurance pool next July, a consultant hired by the town said Tuesday.
The Board of Selectmen previously authorized Cook & Company Insurance Services to study the town’s health insurance options. Wayland faces a Dec. 1, 2015 deadline to elect for coverage through the GIC rather than its current provider, West Suburban Health Group, a separate entity that provides coverage for municipal workers.
