Meals on Wheels Volunteers: Delivering More Than Meals

Deliver-a-differenceVolunteers who deliver Meals on Wheels in Wayland bring more than just a nutritious lunch to recipients: they bring a smile and a friendly hello. Both the food and the interaction are sustaining for recipients.

Meals on Wheels drivers pick up meals at the Wayland Council on Aging and spend about an hour delivering them to recipients around town. Some volunteers commit to delivering meals one day a week; others are available to fill in on an as-needed basis.

Are you looking for a way to make a big difference on a local level? And an opportunity to get to know some of Wayland’s wonderful citizens?

If you would like more information, or to accompany a current volunteer to see what it’s all about, please contact Ann Gordon, Volunteer Coordinator, at the Wayland Council on Aging at 508-358-2990 or agordon@wayland.ma.us
