Arrest made in Home Invasion case

Wayland Patch 6/18/15: Suspect in Wayland Home Invasion Arraigned. A Wayland man who allegedly broke into a home and assaulted a 23-year-old woman was arraigned on Thursday in Framingham District Court. John Monahan, 21, of Wayland was charged with assault and battery and breaking and entering in the nighttime with the intent to commit a felony, said District Attorney Mirian Ryan in an announcement.

Wayland Police 6/17/15: imageOn Wednesday, June 17th, 2015, Wayland Police arrested John T. Monahan, age 21, of 16 Leary Street, Wayland and charged him with Assault and Battery and Break and Entering Nighttime, for the incident that occurred at a West Plain Street residence on Sunday night.

Detectives had investigated a number of tips after the widespread news coverage of the incident. An anonymous tip led them to Monahan. Today, Monahan voluntarily came to police headquarters with his lawyer and his parents. At that time he was taken into custody and charged.

Monahan is currently being held at Wayland Police Headquarters, pending the arrival of the Bail Commissioner. He will be arraigned in Framingham District Court.
