Applications now available for Summer Institute for Youth Leadership

foundation for metrowestDo you know of a high school student in MetroWest looking for something fun to do this summer while giving back to the community? Applications are now available for the Foundation for MetroWest’s Summer Institute for Youth Leadership. The Foundation is offering two sessions this summer, June 29 to July 1 and July 27 to July 29. Both sessions are held at the Foundation’s office at 3 Eliot Street in Natick and run from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM.

The Summer Institute for Youth Leadership is a three day summer experience that offers high school students a unique way to get involved in their community, make new friends, and build skills that will help in high school, college and beyond.

During the Summer Institute, a group of local teens will learn all about the diverse needs of others in the MetroWest community. Students will make site visits to local nonprofit organizations and ultimately discover that they can make a big impact in their community. A highlight of the program, as new philanthropists, teens have the chance to give back to local organizations helping underserved youth by granting $2,500 to the organization of their choice.

Applications are currently being accepted online through June 15 and can be found at: http://bit.ly/SummerInstituteApp. Students living in MetroWest in 9th – 12th grade are eligible to apply. You can find more information about the Youth in Philanthropy program here or by emailing Jennifer Ubaldino at jubaldino@foundationformetrowest.org.
