SOAR 55— Your Local Resource for Volunteering

soar55 SOAR 55, we place, train, and support volunteers, age 55 and over, who want to use their skills and experience to help local non-profits and public organizations in Newton and Metro West.

With over 80 nonprofit and public partners, we are able to provide a professional, personalized and thoughtful search to find the right opportunity that matches your interests, values, and schedule.

Some of our opportunities include: help a newly arrived immigrant family adjust to the culture and life in the United States; develop relationships/partnerships with real estate developers and investors for a foundation that benefits cancer research; help military members find employment and encourage employers to hire them;  as part of a team, mentor an incarcerated woman enrolled in Boston University’s “College Behind Bars” program;  assist with consumer issues through education, referrals to other services and mediation of written complaints; help an art museum/school with special events, and much more!
