School Committee members took a $53,000 assistant principal out of the school budget residents will vote at Town Meeting, in an effort to cut costs Tuesday night. The board was expected to give the Finance Committee a budget Tuesday that was lower than the $37 million tentative budget given to the Finance Committee about a month ago. That number represents a 4.5 percent increase over this past year, and was offered as a “ceiling” with the expectation of reduction.
