Drama Kids International of Metrowest Registering now for School-based Programs

drama kidsWith activities designed to build children’s self-confidence, speaking and acting skills, and leadership abilities, Drama Kids International of Metrowest is starting a new round of classes in Wayland’s three elementary schools for children ages 5 through 11.

The program is brought to Wayland through Wayland School Community Programs, which operates the school district’s fee-based programs. The fall session just concluded. The newest round will culminate in a spring production, which will be chosen to match the group’s abilities and interests.

Production choices include “Pirate Joe,” a story about life on the high seas, both the dream and the reality. The Pirate Crew will find out what it’s like to sail with Captain Joe. The second possibility is “Mystery Under the Big Top,” a tale about circus performers whose acts have fallen on hard times. Determined to bring the kids back to the circus, the stars’ challenge is to change the course of their fate. However, first they must solve a big mystery.

The Spring Session starts the first week of February and classes are from 3 – 4:15 pm or 1:50 – 3 pm (Wednesday). Happy Hollow dates are Tuesdays, February 3 – May 19; Claypit Hill, Wednesdays, February 4 – May 20; and Loker School, February 5 – May 21. Performance date is May 29.
