Debate continues in Wayland on affordable units

Wayland Town Crier 11/6/14: Debate continues in Wayland on affordable units. The proposal to move the affordable housing component of the new Covered Bridge development on Rice Road to 4 School St. in Cochituate has stirred a dispute between residents of the area and developers Devens “Dev” Hamlen and Ben Stevens. Stevens defended the proposal at a Planning Board meeting last month, citing difficulties the town was having in finding a buyer for an affordable unit at Oxbow Meadows, which is not in a neighborhood easily accessible to shops, restaurants and public transportation. “Convenience is a plus,” he said.
