You are Not Alone: A Conversation about Community Supports for Survivors of Domestic Abuse and the People Who Care About Them, November 12

roundtable thumbnailPlease join the Sudbury-Wayland-Lincoln Domestic Violence Roundtable for the second in a series of programs about “Understanding the Landscape for Preventing and Addressing Domestic Violence.” Our first program addressed the new domestic violence law and the impact it could have for legal and educational systems, for employers, and for each of us.

Our second program will be; “You Are Not Alone: A Conversation About Community Supports for Survivors of Domestic Abuse and the People Who Care About Them”

Domestic abuse thrives in silence and isolation. Come to this important conversation about how we as family, friends, neighbors, co-workers and community professionals can break this silence and reach out to people who might be experiencing domestic or dating abuse. Bringing up the subject of abuse can be very difficult both for abuse survivors and for people who care about them. It’s important to know that no one is alone when it comes to this topic. Let’s talk about the resources we have in our communities, what we have to offer and what you — whatever your role is — might need in order to be part of making Sudbury, Wayland and Lincoln safer, stronger communities.

The program will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 (Please note change of day), at 3:30 PM in the Community Meeting Room of the Wayland Public Safety Building located at 38 Cochituate Road in Wayland Center.

A brief business meeting will be held from 3-3:30 PM followed by the conversation. Refreshments will be served.
