The following message was sent out via robocall to Wayland residents from the Wayland Police Department:

There is a water main break on W. Plain St. near the intersection of Old Conn Path. The Wayland DPW is on the scene and in the process of repairing the water main break. The repair could take several hours. Some homes may not have water or will experience low water pressure while the repairs are being made.

Update 10/5/14:  The break has been repaired.
