The Wayland Library’s 2014-2015 Great Presenters speaker series will begin in October. Join your neighbors as they share recent experiences, discoveries, and travels. This year’s eight presentations address a range of interesting questions: Will technology replace humans? Is the world running out of energy? What biotech firm started at a Cochituate kitchen table? Why did Cinderella’s stepsisters chop off their feet? How can we get our kids more interested in math? What are local people doing to enhance science education in Africa? What does science tell us about empathy and the evolutionary advantage of prosocial behavior?

The first presentation, by Dr. Vincent Giuliano, will cover emerging science and discoveries that may soon lead to longer lifespans. He will speak at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 7, in the Raytheon Room at the library.
