OARS’ Water Wise Workshops : Back for the 11th SummerOARS waterwise
Free, hands-on, waterside workshops for children ages 6-10
July 7th – August 12th

This series of six free workshops offers children ages 6-10 an opportunity to learn about the environment in an outdoor waterside setting. Through fun hands-on activities, demonstrations and lively group discussions, children are encouraged to explore the fascinating world of water and learn new ways of protecting it for all the creatures that depend on it. Hands-on activities that fascinate this age group include testing water, using microscopes to examine “who” lives in the water, building watersheds, exploring watershed maps, and taking photographs of what they see. Exploration using games and some arts & crafts activities are also included.
Workshop topics include:

  • July 7, 8 Your Watershed and the Water Cycle
  • July 14, 15 Water Plants and Animals
  • July 21, 22 Water Bugs Mystery
  • July 28, 29 Water Testing and Conservation:
  • Aug 4, 5 Water Wise Photography
  • Aug 11, 12 Water Wise Wizards

The workshops take place from 10 am to noon: Monday’s in Westborough (State beach on Lake Chauncy) and Tuesday’s in Natick (Lake Cochituate State Park). Both workshops are the same. Choose the location that is best for you.
