Let’s Make It Grow: After School Gardening at Claypit

Let’s Make It Grow: After School Gardening begins next Friday, May 16, 2014, and continues until June 6 for Grades 2 -5 children at Claypit Hill School. The four-week activity is being led by Grade Two Teacher Ms. Deane Coady, and Molly Faulkner, of the Wayland Green Team and Mass Ag in the Classroom.
Children will learn how to grow flowers and vegetables in Claypit Hill’s own raised bed gardens and at home. They’ll be making a take home pizza garden. If there’s a rainy day, topics such as pollination, different plant parts that we eat, such as leaves, stems, roots, and seeds, and more will be introduced.
The program is being offered through Wayland School Community Programs, Community Education. Please register asap as program begins Friday, May 16.
