The late Florence Adler was a staunch supporter of Wayland METCO. Her efforts in town increased awareness of diversity and the value of integration in our schools. This race memorializes her name and support.

*METCO (Metropolitan Council for Educational Opportunity) is a voluntary integration program where students from Boston and Springfield are bused to public schools in surrounding suburbs. The goals of the program are to increase access to a quality integrated education. METCO was created in 1966 under the Racial Imbalance Act. Students from Boston who participate pass the MCAS and attend college/universities at rates comparable to their suburban peers.

Support The METCO Program with a generous pledge/donation. Join us on race day and cheer your team/runner on to the finish line! METCO Works!
