The Wayland Public Schools Foundation is pleased to host the 23rd Annual Spelling Bee, Sunday, March 30th, 2014. The annual Spelling Bee is a fundraising event for the Foundation, welcoming over 400 elementary Bee participants, 70+ community volunteers, and over 1200 guests.
Form Your Swarm!
THE SPELLING BEE IS:
- Open to students in grades 2 through 5
- A team spelling bee. Children form teams of three (their “swarm”), with all three members in the same grade.
- Held at Wayland High School between 12:30pm and 4:30pm. Each team is assigned a 25 minute timeslot in which they will compete with 5 to 7 other teams in the same grade. (The specific timeslot for each team will be posted to the website by Monday, March 10th.)
REGISTRATION:
Is online and begins Monday, February 3rd
– Regular Registration: February 3rd to February 21st ($30 per speller)
– Late Registration: February 22nd to February 28th ($40 per speller)
– (Full and partial scholarships are available)
Is done individually. However, each registrant must have the following in order to register:
1. The name of your child’s team (It is important that the team name is spelled the same way by all three team members.
2. The names of your child’s other two team members
Please note that registration is not complete until payment is processed and you receive a confirmation email.
Every speller receives a T-shirt and participation gift, and Bee winners receive an award at the end of each round.
