Wayland Patch 12/13/13: Wayland Town Clerk is Retiring. Wayland Town Clerk Lois Toombs is retiring next year. Toombs has submitted her letter of retirement to the Board of Selectmen, she told Wayland Patch on Friday. Toombs will leave her post on April 2, 2014, two years before her term is set to expire, she said. “The time has come. I want to spend some time with my family… and do some fun things,” she said. “I am going to miss it all.”
