Wayland Town Crier 11/24/13: Wayland event showcases athletes of all ages and abilities. The Fifth Annual Katie’s Races took place on Nov. 2 and 3 in Wayland. Katie’s Races are a collection of four extraordinary athletic events created to inspire athletes of all ages and abilities to participate in competition. The events include The Purple Shoes Challenge for athletes with physical disabilities, a Half Marathon, 5K and Kids’ Races. The events raise money for the Katie Lynch Foundation, which was established to raise awareness and funding for all types of disabling conditions.
