Arts Wayland December Exhibit

Arts Wayland (AW) is calling for entries for its upcoming December exhibit. The theme of the show to be held in the Wayland Public Library Raytheon Room is: “Wayland: Over the River and thru the Woods”

This theme is in celebration of our experience of and appreciation for Wayland, and is part of the celebration of Wayland’s 375th Anniversary. Arts Wayland is encouraging submissions for this show to have a Wayland theme.

It’s necessary to be a member of Arts Wayland to exhibit artistic works. Membership is $15 or $25 per year, depending on level. These fees are used to support exhibit expenses. Renewal is annual on January 1. New members who pay in the fall/winter 2013 will also get the full 2014 membership year.

Arts Wayland has an updated website, and current and new members should examine it at http://www.artswayland.com. Membership signups or renewals are available on the website. In addition, all exhibits will be posted and all members will be able to sign up for shows directly on the web.

Arts Wayland is a non-profit organization started in 1980. Its mission is to promote artistic expression in Wayland and surrounding communities. The organization welcomes all levels of artists as well as supporters of the arts.

Arts Wayland organizes three exhibits a year in the Wayland Public Library, and at least one in the Gallery in the Town Building, where all members can show, novices as well as seasoned artists. Artists from all media can display their work side by side, which allows beginners to learn from others and gain confidence, and for more experienced artists to learn from each other. In addition, gallery talks are held in connection with most exhibits and have been an effective means for artists to discuss their work. Arts Wayland is planning additional informal activities for the 2014 year such as a juried show, workshops, and demonstrations.
