Weston Drama Workshop launches big theater talent

Wayland Town Crier 7/19/13: Weston Drama Workshop launches big theater talent. Weston Drama Workshop (WDW), a nonprofit organization conceived 51 years ago “to foster and develop an interest in and an appreciation of the performing arts,” is busily preparing for its upcoming productions of “Shrek The Musical,” “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying,” “Blood Brothers,” “Almost, Maine,” and “James and the Giant Peach.” Performances run from July 18 to 27 at the Regis College Fine Arts Center. Many are familiar with WDW’s high quality shows wrought from the powerful mix of dedicated theater-loving middle and high school students, college students, post-graduates, and a professional theater production team. Those who see the productions for the first time, however, often are astounded at the near-professional quality of the shows (at such affordable prices), given the relative youth of the performers.
